Is it any wonder that MP’s are seen to have their snouts in the trough or feathering their own nests or any other similar metaphor you like to think of. Yes they voted for a small salary increase but at the same time voted to retain all their expense accounts and allowances.
It must be nice to go out and buy a plasma screen television along with a DVD recorder and charge it to your expense account knowing that when the time comes for the accounts to be signed off it is you who does the signing. Who needs a large salary increase with benefits like these? It should be remembered also that these are the same people who have enabled the prosecution of say, a single mother on Social Security, doing a bit of cleaning to give her children a treat or a day out.
It’s OUR trough, get your noses out!

Yes, and it is also noting that if any of the common “people” were to have received such luxuries, they would have been taxed on them as a ‘benefit in kind’. Not so our members of parliament!
